“The ground of this talk will be to cover the importance of delivering trust and knowledge to a landscape that has long been used as a resource rather than a relative.”

To learn more about Kyle:

Guided by the teachings of his Wabanaki ancestors, Kiwenik “Kyle” Lolar (Penobscot/Passamaquoddy) walks alongside his wife, Kasq “Natalie” Dana Lolar (Passamaquoddy/Penobscot), and their five children to help restore Indigenous knowledge to places once marked by extraction. As a co-founder of the Kiwenik & Kasq Indigenous Knowledge Institute (KKIKI), he works to reintroduce purposefully focused Wabanaki ways of knowing into contemporary systems, helping to heal and rebalance relationships between people and the land. Rooted in ancestral teachings of responsibility and renewal, his path honors those who cared for these lands long before him—and prepares the way for those yet to come.
